Your EMPA or UGPA insurance documents (check the 4 first digits of your policy number) have been sent to you by e-mail prior or at to the start of your insurance and contains the phone number in case of an emergency where you need urgent assistance : such as surgery/hospitalisation due to an accident/illness or an urgent return home due to a death in the family where the assistance providers will book your flight for you (do not do this yourself without their prior approval).

The phone number of the Assistance Provider in case of emergency 24/7/365 :

This number must only be used in case of emergency situations when assistance is needed immediately. The call will be charged at an international dial rate.

in the following situations:

- In case of mortal danger/serious illness of a family member or if one of your family members dies and if you want to go back home to attend the funeral, you must call them to organize your return trip home.

- If you are hospitalized and need to go back home to receive additional medical treatment, the Assistance Provider will bear the costs related to your medical transport and organize the repatriation.

- If someone stoles your wallet/bag, the Assistance Provider will help you perform the administrative tasks such as intervene at bank agencies and embassies for the renewal of documents.

For a claim refund you have to submit a claim to the Insurer for the reimbursement of your costs. Please consult the Claim Forms section where the procedure is explained.

Aside your name, birth date, email, etc. we occasionally may also have to process or store emails containing sensitive data you and the university that purchased the insurance for you, shared with MARSH. For instance, you may request our advice whether your specific physical condition is covered under the policy, or regarding an injury that occurred during your travel and/or stay, or when you copy us in emails addressed to the claims handler/insurer to request a refund for hospital and/or other medical cost related invoices. In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation, we hereby inform you that when you send us a query containing sensitive personal date by email or through the CONTACT US section you are providing your consent to MARSH to process this type of medical data. You may withdraw that consent at any time. We inform you however that such withdrawal could imply that we or the insurer could no longer be in a position to continue to provide services.
